The seven-resort shortlist
This is an editorial shortlist built from current first-party room, location, facility, and policy information. Tourism.ph has not personally inspected every room. We selected properties that solve different Siquijor stays and expose useful details before the commercial click.
Relative tiers are comparisons within Siquijor, not quoted prices. Live rates change by date, guest count, channel, inclusions, and refund terms. Enter every traveler and compare the final total for the exact category.
| Property | Setting | Best for | Published room signal | Main tradeoff |

| U Story Resort | Tag-ibo private cove | Romantic bungalow stay | 16 bungalows, rooms, and a multi-room villa; selected category has mini pool | Deposit is retained on cancellation under published terms |
| Infinity Heights Resort | Brgy Pii hilltop | Panoramic retreat and connecting rooms | 40 sqm Deluxe Seaview with two balconies and connecting-door option | Not beachfront; every outing needs transport |

| Nakabalo Guesthouse | Maite hills, San Juan | Value view, pool, and family option | King and queen rooms; paired terrace rooms and extra-bed options | Guesthouse scale and transport to the coast |

Quick picks by traveler
The property should fit the island routine. A hill room can deliver a better sunset and pool than a coastal room, but it also makes every beach, dinner, and port movement a vehicle decision.
| Traveler priority | Start with | Compare against | Question that decides it |
|---|---|---|---|
| First full-resort stay | Coco Grove | Kawayan | Do you want broad facilities or small-scale seclusion? |
| Honeymoon or private cove | U Story | Kawayan | Is the cove, private mini pool, or dive access the priority? |
| Family resort week | Coco Grove | South Mountain | Beach campus or a two-bedroom hill retreat? |
| Panoramic hill pool | Infinity Heights | South Mountain | Room configuration or larger retreat grounds? |
| View-led value | Nakabalo | Infinity Heights | How much hotel polish and transport support do you need? |
| Food and San Juan energy | Soluna | Coco Grove | Boutique social setting or full private campus? |
| Diving-focused couple | Kawayan | Coco Grove or U Story | Which dive shop, departure, and coast match the plan? |
Coco Grove: the complete beachfront resort
Coco Grove is the strongest all-around resort comparison in Siquijor. Its official site describes 800 meters of white beach and a broad room inventory across tropical gardens, pools, cottages, suites, and villas. The current room page also provides a resort map, which matters on a property this large.
Choose it when the family or couple will use the beach, pools, dining, diving, and organized excursions enough to justify a resort campus. Do not book from the room name alone: Garden View, Pool View, Sea View, Beach Front, Ocean, Sanctuary, and Sunset categories can create different walks and outlooks.
The live page currently lists a 3 p.m. check-in, noon checkout, and breakfast for two in the displayed rates, but the selected package controls. Confirm occupancy, extra beds, child meals, room zone, stairs, port transfer, dive schedule, and cancellation.
- Best fit: first resort stay, families, divers, and travelers wanting on-site options
- Published strength: long beachfront, broad room range, pools, dining, and marine access
- Room decision: map position and category are as important as price
- Verify: breakfast count, child policy, port pickup, room access, and refund terms
Kawayan and U Story: two secluded coast stays
Kawayan is the small luxury comparison on the quieter southern side of San Juan. Its official site publishes four 70 sqm Prestige Sea View Villas, a dive center, and a location that it describes as roughly 15 minutes by motorbike from both San Juan and Lazi. That geometry favors resort, diving, and quiet time over spontaneous evenings.
U Story is the romantic private-cove alternative in Tag-ibo. Its current site describes 16 bungalows plus a villa, direct cove access for many categories, open-air bathrooms, terraces, and selected rooms including a Honeymoon Bungalow with a private mini pool. The property also operates a restaurant and dive shop.
U Story's published terms say a one-night booking requires full payment, longer bookings require a 50% deposit, and cancellation results in retention of the deposit. Treat those as direct-site terms and compare them with any flexible affiliate rate. At either property, confirm road access, port transfer, restaurant hours, shore entry, and the exact room.
Infinity Heights and South Mountain: choose the hill
Infinity Heights is the established hilltop comparison in Barangay Pii. Its official room page publishes a roughly 40 sqm Deluxe Seaview room with two balconies, king bed, extra-bed option, and connecting door to a Deluxe Mountain View Villa. That makes it useful for couples or a family comparing connected categories.
South Mountain sits above San Juan and describes a solar-powered property with a large infinity pool, restaurant, rooms, one-bedroom bungalows, and two-bedroom family bungalows. Choose it when the pool, grounds, and sunset panorama are the stay rather than a substitute for beachfront.
For both, the access road and backup systems are part of the room. Ask which vehicle can reach reception, how late transfers operate, which facilities remain powered during an outage, whether the pool is open, and how many steps lie between the vehicle and the room.
| Decision | Infinity Heights | South Mountain |
|---|---|---|
| Room priority | Published sea/mountain views and connecting-door option | Bungalow and family-space variety |
| Property priority | Compact hill resort | Larger retreat grounds and long pool |
| Daily tradeoff | Transport for every coast activity | Same, plus confirm hill-road access |
| Verify | Connection guarantee, extra bed, breakfast, pickup | Bedroom layout, solar/generator coverage, road, restaurant |
Nakabalo and Soluna: two useful San Juan alternatives
Nakabalo is the value-and-view comparison in Maite. Its official site publishes king- and queen-bed rooms with terraces, air-conditioning, hot and cold showers, and an infinity pool overlooking the sea. A pair of Deluxe Rooms shares a sea-view terrace and is described as useful for a family; confirm whether both rooms and the separation are guaranteed.
Soluna is the central beachfront boutique alternative. Its current site pairs minimalist rooms with Drift Kitchen & Bar in San Juan and openly notes live music on some weekends and the ordinary hum of island life. That candor helps: choose it for food and social ease, not for guaranteed silence.
Neither should be compared with Coco Grove as if the facility set were identical. Nakabalo wins when a hill view and smaller price matter; Soluna when beachfront location and on-site dining matter. Confirm the exact room, current pool or beach access, breakfast, event schedule, transport, and cancellation.
The Siquijor room and transport audit
Siquijor resort value depends on the route it creates. Compare the same room and occupancy, then add the port transfer and every likely dinner or activity ride. Save written terms before payment.
| Check | What to confirm | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Exact room | Building, map position, floor, beds, terrace, view and steps | Resort categories can span different zones |
| Occupancy | Every guest and child age, extra bed, breakfast and room maximum | A family label does not prove a workable legal setup |
| Shoreline | Sand, reef, tide, swim access, marine rules and footwear | “Beachfront” is not one uniform swimming product |
| Port | Siquijor or Larena, vehicle, luggage, waiting, time and fare | The two terminals require different routes |
| Road | Surface, hill grade, lighting, rain access and vehicle suitability | Remote and hill stays depend on it daily |
| Systems | Power coverage, water pressure, hot water, Wi-Fi and mobile backup | Small properties can have partial backup |
| Food | Breakfast count, restaurant hours, closure day and outside options | Secluded properties have fewer fallback meals |
| Rate | Taxes, service, deposit, payment method and cancellation | A retained deposit can outweigh a lower price |
Our booking decision rule
Book Coco Grove when the full beachfront campus will be used; Kawayan for small-scale coastal luxury and diving; U Story for romantic cove bungalows; Infinity Heights or South Mountain when the view and pool are the product; Nakabalo for view-led value; and Soluna for central San Juan dining and social energy.
Hold a flexible room after the ferry or flight skeleton is credible. Confirm the actual arrival port before arranging pickup. Compare direct and affiliate offers for the identical room, then keep the better combination of total price, transfer, meals, payment protection, and cancellation.
If the property is outside walkable San Juan, solve every evening before booking: eat on site, prearrange a driver, or accept the ride. Seclusion becomes valuable only when it is deliberate.

Coco Grove offers the broadest resort setup and room range. South Mountain publishes family bungalows, while Infinity Heights has a connecting-room signal. Confirm every bed, child age, breakfast and transfer.
Which Siquijor resort is best for couples?
Kawayan is a quiet boutique coast option, U Story has private-cove bungalows and a selected mini-pool category, and Infinity Heights suits couples prioritizing a hilltop panorama.
Is it better to stay beachfront or in the hills in Siquijor?
Choose beachfront for easy coast time and marine activities. Choose the hills for views, breeze, grounds and pools—but budget transport for every beach, dinner and port movement.
Do Siquijor resorts provide port transfers?
Many can arrange them, but the inclusion and price vary. Confirm whether the sailing uses Siquijor or Larena Port, plus vehicle, luggage, waiting, hours and complete fare.

Compare identical rooms on both. Direct packages may add pickup or meals, while a comparison site may provide a more flexible cancellation policy than a deposit-retaining direct rate.
