The weak plan is to arrive without a port handoff, stay on an isolated road, and assume a new ride will appear after dark. The strong plan makes three movements explicit before the ferry leaves: port to hotel, one whole-day loop, and hotel to departure port. Everything else can remain flexible.

Solve the port before choosing the ride

Siquijor has two operating passenger gateways: Siquijor Port and Larena. A message that says only "pick us up at Siquijor" is incomplete. Send the vessel, sailing date, scheduled arrival, exact port, guest count, luggage, hotel name, and a working phone or messaging contact.

Build one island loop that still feels like a holiday

For a first trip, use one coherent south-and-east loop rather than chasing the full circumference. A practical shape is a San Juan pickup, one coastal stop, Cambugahay Falls, Lazi Church and convent context, lunch, then one final beach or viewpoint chosen for the live conditions. The provincial coastal-tour page places these stops within a much larger 75-kilometer island road; that is a warning against turning every pin into a compulsory stop.

Cambugahay changes the physical load. Steps, wet surfaces, water entry, ropes, queues, and optional jumping are not equivalent to looking at a church or beach. Ask whether anyone can skip the activity, where the driver waits, whether a life jacket and local assistance are included, and how the day changes after heavy rain.

Keep the marine morning separate

Ask the property, sanctuary contact, or operator who provides the briefing and guide, what is included, where entry occurs, whether fins are appropriate, and what happens when conditions are unsuitable. Travelers who do not swim can still build a good island day around Lazi heritage, a waterfall viewpoint or dry alternative, local meals, coast scenery, and a sunset return. Do not pay for a marine package merely because transport is bundled.

Plan the return before dark
